Remove Services from Microsoft Account

In a previous tutorial, we showed you how you can connect a service to your Microsoft Account. However, there may be occasions when you want to remove any such connected service. Why? You may have privacy issues or may have changed your designation or job. In that case, you'll not want any such services connected to your Microsoft Account.

In this tutorial, we'll show how you can remove a connected service from your Microsoft Account:

1. Make sure you first sign into your Microsoft Account, and then access your Profile page. Figure 1, below shows a typical Microsoft Account Profile page.

In Figure 1, above you can see that three services, Skype, Messenger, and Flickr are already connected, as shown highlighted in red. To remove a service, click on its icon (we chose Flickr).

2. This will open a page, as shown in Figure 2 where you will find an option to remove the selected service.

3. Within this page click the Remove this connection completely hyperlink, as shown highlighted in red within Figure 2, above.
4. This brings up a window with a message that says "You will no longer be able to access your Flickr info from your Microsoft account". Click the Remove button, as shown highlighted in red within Figure 3.

5. This removes Flickr as a connected service from your Microsoft Account. In Figure 4, below, you can see that the Flickr icon can no longer be seen within your Profile page.

Similarly you can remove other services from your Microsoft Account.
