Sometimes, things work perfectly, and sometimes, they do not. When they don’t work, the biggest issue is to ascertain and diagnose the problem, and then you resolve it. This process is called troubleshooting, and we will explore troubleshooting issues for creating PDFs from within PowerPoint on this page.
This often happens when you are using Adobe Type 1 fonts in your presentation, and using the free Microsoft Save as PDF and XPS add-in to convert your presentations to PDFs. However, this add-in works fine with Open Type and True Type fonts.
Why doesn't Microsoft make the Save as PDF and XPS add-in as a part of Office rather than requiring me to download it as a separate add-in? That's a great question, and no one knows for sure why they implemented the PDF output option as an extra add-in requiring a separate installation.
