We already showed how you can add connected services in PowerPoint 2016 for Mac. Although it may seem that you are adding these services to PowerPoint, you are essentially connecting them to all programs and platforms connected with your Microsoft account, including OneDrive, all of Microsoft Office, and sometimes, even your Mac OS. Wherever used, these connected services help you access your settings and recent files or templates across all your devices, including laptops, tablets and even smartphones. Additionally, some services allow you to access media and document files.

Across a span of time, you may forget which services you are connected to. In this tutorial you'll learn to explore these services from within PowerPoint 2016 for Mac. You can then manage or remove individual services, as required. This process works the same way within Word, Excel, and other Office programs.

  1. First you need to find out the list of services that are connected. To do that, bring up Backstage View as shown in Figure 1. Now, select the Account option (highlighted in blue within Figure 1).
  2. Account option in Backstage View

  3. This brings up the Accounts window within Backstage view, as shown in Figure 2. Within the Accounts window, you'll find the Connected Services section (highlighted in red within Figure 2).

  5. To remove a service, hover the cursor on that service. This brings up the Minus button as shown highlighted in red within Figure 3. Click this button.
  6. Select the Service to remove

  7. This action summons a message window, to confirm that you want to remove the service. Here, click the Remove button (highlighted in red within Figure 4) to completely disable access to the selected service.
  8. Remove the Service

  9. This will remove the connected service. Applications may take a while to refresh in the Connected Services list. Next time, when you access the Accounts window again, you can see that the removed service is not there in the Connected Services list, as shown in Figure 5.
