PowerPoint provides several bullet styles that you can choose from, but they do look a little canned since almost every PowerPoint slide these days uses the same bullet styles! You could get rid of bullets altogether and use small sentences/paragraphs instead, or maybe you could explore picture bullets, to insert any picture as your bullet. Of course, for picture bullets to work, your picture needs to be small, no larger than a medium-sized dot. And it helps if it has transparent areas. There are so many shapes available in PowerPoint, and that's good because that means so many more possibilities to create your own unique shapes by using any of the Merge Shapes commands. One of the amazing options within Merge Shapes is Combine, which retains areas where the shapes do not overlap while removing the overlapping areas. Think of Combine as an amazing cutout option!

Among the many features in PowerPoint 2016, there are some that are more useful than the others. Options for using Guides are certainly vital. Many users are not aware of all the capabilities that Guides offer. For example, Guides can be added through the right-click menu. You can add new Guides that are offset to your existing Guides. While we learned the basics about RGB colors, that constitute portions of Red, Blue, and Green—what we need to know is that there is so much more to learn about them. Two weeks ago, Mary Jennings Hegar was a textbook definition of a long shot: a rookie Democrat running in red state Texas’ 31st Congressional District against John Carter, a Republican who has held the office for 15 years. Although MJ, as she likes to be called, had a distinguished career as a U.S. Air Force Medevac pilot in Afghanistan (winning a Distinguished Flying Cross and Purple Heart when her helicopter was shot down), she was a political unknown. Once you have made Guides visible on your PowerPoint slides, they show up in the same position on all other slides within the presentation. You’ll find that only two Guides, one horizontal and one vertical Guide are visible at first, and these two Guides intersect at the center of the slide. Most of the time, this might work for you, but you can actually add more Guides since these can help in positioning slide objects better across successive slides.

Making gridlines visible on your slides in PowerPoint 2016 is only a good idea if you use the Grid feature to attain some results. If you are serious about using Grids to position slide objects with more precision, you must first visit the options available for changing Grid settings. Shapes are the building blocks of whatever you create in PowerPoint. In fact, even a text box that you add to your slide is essentially a shape with a No Fill attribute. Once you get proficient with shapes, you can do so much more. For example, you can combine multiple shapes to create fancier shapes. However, you need to start with the very basics, and there's so much to learn even at this foundation level. The first task you need to do is to insert a shape. Fortunately, PowerPoint makes it easy to do this task.
