Fullscreen Options
These tutorials were created as part of a series to incorporate Flash content within PowerPoint. On this page, we'll look at configuring Flash movies to play fullscreen within Adobe Flash 4 and 5. This page will be subsequently updated with similar information for Flash MX, Adobe LiveMotion and other SWF creation tools.
Preparing Your Flash File: Flash 4
- First of all you need to make your Flash file default to playing
fullscreen rather than in its own window.
- In the first frame of the file insert an FS Command Action:
right click on the frame, select Properties and the Actions tab.
- Choose FS Command from the + drop down menu and choose Full
Screen from the Standalone Player menu.
- Now you need to create an Action to quit the Flash file on
the appropriate event.
- If you want your animation to run once only and then return
to PowerPoint insert another FS Command Action on the last frame,
this time selecting Quit from the Standalone Player menu. This
exits the Flash Player at the end of the animation.
- If you want to loop your animation and return to PowerPoint at your own discretion insert a Quit button and assign the FS Command Quit Action to the button.
Preparing Your Flash File: Flash 5
- Again, you need to impart a fullscreen attribute to your Flash
movie.
- Select the first frame of the file - right click and click
on 'Actions' from the resultant popup menu. This will open the
'Frame Actions' window.
- Click the box marked with the plus (+) sign to open a popup
menu - in the resultant menu, choose Basic Actions to open another
flyout menu. In this menu, opt for the FSCommand option.
- Now, you'll find a drop-down box at the bottom called 'Commands
for standalone player' - choose the 'fullscreen (true/false)'
option.
- Similarly, you can choose options for 'quit' as detailed above in options for Flash 4 (see last sublevel on this page).
