Is Your PowerPoint a Presentation or a Business Report?

We have already explored aligning shapes in PowerPoint. However, for alignment to work in the first place, you need to have more than one shape or slide object selected so that they can align with each other. However, what if you want to align one shape, or even a single group of shapes to the exact center of your slide?

Fortunately, that is easy to achieve. Follow these steps to center your selected shape or group of shapes to the slide in PowerPoint 2010 for Windows:

  1. Select a shape, or even a group of shapes placed on the slide, as shown in Figure 1, below.
  2. Shape on the PowerPoint slide

  3. Access the Home tab of the Ribbon, and within the Drawing group, click the Arrange button to bring up the gallery, as shown in Figure 2, below. Click the Align option to bring up the Align sub-gallery, as shown in Figure 2, and make sure that the Align to Slide option is selected.
  4. Align to Slide option selected in the Align subgallery

  5. With the Align to Slide option selected, click both the Align Center and the Align Middle options. Make sure to click these options one after the other.
  6. This action will position the shape to the exact center of the slide, as shown in Figure 3, below.

Center More than One Shape or Object?
